Garbage Rate Increase

Per the Franchise Agreement, Waste Connections is able to increase or decrease the garbage service rates to refelct the Consumer Price Index, with a 90 day notice to the City. The rate increase was brought before the City Council at the regular scheduled meeting on June 13, 2024, where Waste Connections did present all required documents to support the rate increase. The City Council approved a 4% garbage service rate increase by ordinance at the July 11, 2024 regular scheduled meeting. This rate increase will become effective on the August 20th - September 20th billing cycle, invoiced October 1, 2024. The current contract with Waste Connections will expire on September 26, 2025, at this time the City will go out for bids for garbage service.
