NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING ON THE ADOPTION OF THE DONLEY COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN
The Clarendon City Council will conduct a public meeting before considering final adoption of the recently completed 2025 Donley County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update on July 10, 2025 in the City Council Chambers at the Clarendon City Hall located at 313 S. Sully St. Clarendon, Texas. This plan incorporates mitigation actions intended to minimize the impacts of certain natural hazards on the residents of the City.
The Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, as amended, requires that local governments develop, adopt, and update natural hazard mitigation plans in order to receive certain federal assistance. A Mitigation Action Team (MAT) comprised of representatives from Donley County, City of Clarendon, City of Hedley, City of Howardwick, Clarendon ISD, Hedley ISD, and Clarendon College, was convened to assess the risks from and vulnerabilities of natural hazards that are endemic to the Donley County area, and to make recommendations on mitigating the effects of such hazards. The former hazard mitigation plan was adopted in 2019, and should be updated with FEMA at least every five (5) years.
A copy of the Donley County plan update is now available for review in the County Judge's office, City Halls, School Administration Buildings, or it may be reviewed online at:
