On July 15, 2024, Clarendon City Hall received a phone call that near the 1500 to 1600 block of West 7th Street of a racoon that was showing possible signs of rabies. The racoon was taken to the local veterinarian to be sent for testing. On July 22, 2024, results came back positive for rabies.
State lawrequires animals to be vaccinated. Animals must be current on all vaccines and since a case of rabies has been confirmed in the area, please watch for signs of rabies.
